Daniel's Birthday

This week has been pretty crazy. At work on Wednesday I got a text from Chris that Cat was in labor and to go to the hospital after work. We got a little crazy waiting for the next member of the "VanderHoeven Machine" as this picture shows you. We are flashing you the VM. All of this is going on as Cat is struggling through a tough labor.

After a very long labor Dr. Blakeney decided that she needed a C-section. Logan Dean Sirrine was born at 11:44 p.m. and what a cutie. Logan was born in the same room as Jennifer, Daniel and Laura. (Cat went through labor in the same room that Adam was born.

On my way to visit Cat and the baby in the hospital on Thursday I got a call from Jack that he was visiting them and was having severe chest pains. We decided that he should go right down to the emergency room considering the fact that his family has a lot of history of heart troubles. We spent the entire evening in the emergency room as they took many tests and gave Jack medicine for the pain. They decided that they wanted to admit him so that they could run more tests to make sure he was alright. He was released yesterday but he needs to go to the cardiologist tomorrow to check on some of the results and go through yet another test. He says he feels fine now but we need to find out what was going on the other day.
Daniel at about 1 year old
Finally......Thursday was a big milestone in Daniel's life as it was his 18th birthday. I felt bad that I was so involved with Jack's ordeal that I didn't get to spend as much time with Daniel as I would have liked. I think he had a pretty good day despite everything else because when I got home on Thursday night I had a house full of teenagers, soda cans all over the place and a camp fire in the back yard.Today Daniel gave a talk in church that was so good. He has really grown up to be a wonderful young man. He received the Melchizedek priesthood and was ordained an Elder. We are very proud of him and I know that I will miss him very much when he leaves for school in a couple of weeks.
